The U15 Falmouth Rugby team has gone from strength to strength in recent years reaching the county festival finals twice and last year winning the county 7’s festival. A significant number of the U15 Falmouth team  also play in the Penryn College Yr 10 team and they too have had great success reaching the quarter finals of the National Schools Vase trophy and are county champions in the 15’s and the 7’s game.

The Falmouth U15 club team are made up of lads from Falmouth School, Penryn College and Truro School.

Following the core values of the rugby code, through hard work, dedication and commitment the players attend well planned training sessions run by coaches Ben Watkins, Toby Allies and Jack Penhallurick.

Many of the boys are working hard attending extra training session with the Exeter Chiefs DPP (Development Players Programme).

From these sessions 8 players have been selected to play for the Cornwall Central Group and will train for the honour to represent the county.

From this group, two of the boys, Max Watkins and Jowan Peck, have had the privilege of being selected onto the Exeter Chiefs Academy following in the footsteps of Jack Nowell and Henry Slade. Only seven Cornwall players were selected to join the Chiefs Academy so this was an amazing achievement and is a testament to their skills, ability and dedication.

The team was also shortlisted for the National Try of the Month by the RFU in November receiving over 60,000 views on social media.

The level of commitment, spirit amongst the players and parents is fantastic and they are all looking forward to the Cornwall Tournament at Redruth in the Spring. The whole team will be travelling on tour to Barnstable for the South West Rugby Rocks Festival in May for a weekend full of rugby to complete the amazing season of successes.

Congratulations boys and keep up the good work.
