CRFU U7s & U8s Tag Rugby Festival
**Sunday 30th April 2023**
Falmouth RFC are delighted to invite you to attend the CRFU U7s & U8s festival
at The Recreation Ground, Falmouth on Sunday 30th April 2023.
Registration will take place at 10am.
Refreshments, food and a range of other activities will be available during the day.
All players will be provided with a commemorative prize.
We wish to make sure that all children have an opportunity to play in the festival regardless of the size of their squad.
As a result –
● There will be no limit to squad size.
● Clubs may submit as many teams as they wish and we will try to do our best to accommodate them– however we do have a maximum limit on the number of teams we can fit in and may have to ask some clubs to merge teams if that number is exceeded. They will still be able to bring all their players.
● The entry fee will be per team and not per player.
● We will endeavour to run one or more “Barbarian” sides, made up of players from several clubs if there is a need.
We would like to remind clubs of the following –
● We will be adhering to the normal RFU Regulations concerning U7s & U8s age grades.
● Unfortunately it will not be possible for a player to play outside their age grade i.e. an U8 player playing for an U7s side, without special prior dispensation.
● The usual limits of 4 players for U7 and 6 players for U8 on the pitch at any one time will apply. As a result we suggest that clubs with large squads split them to make two or more teams to ensure that their players get maximum game time. Where possible a team should have at least two substitutes to allow for injury and fatigue.
● Each club should try to provide a referee for each team they are entering – please indicate names on the reply form below.
The cost for each team entering the festival is £10 –
This entry fee will be spent on a small commemorative prize for every player attending.
Please make your best estimate of the numbers you are likely to bring.
We will be flexible and refund fees for teams that do not attend and also try to accept late entries nearer the time
– however we need a good idea of how many to cater for to make sure that the festival runs smoothly.

We would appreciate prompt returns of the forms; as there is a great deal of planning and organisation to do
- due to the hosting of two separate age groups on the same day.
We are very keen to make this a great day out for all the children participating and a celebration of our game of rugby
– so the emphasis will be very much on fun and enjoyment rather than the more competitive aspects.
We are planning to run other activities during the day to help keep the kids entertained.
The hope is to give all our players something positive to remember from the day.
