Boxing Day 2020
I am sure you're all aware the world seems to be changing minute by minute, and because of this, our Boxing Day plans have had to change. Here is the clarification to ‘what is happening at the Club on Boxing Day 2020?’.
The Club’s focus remains - in order, the players and their welfare, the Club, and the Falmouth Community. So, what are we doing to provide support to all? Again, a little context; we are only one of two/three Clubs planning events on Boxing Day across the County so please come and support us, this is a leap into the unknown and all we want to do is add a little, safe, normality to rugby at Falmouth, and celebrate our community. Penryn RFC were personally invited by me to join us but have declined so we will be celebrating a Falmouth Festival of Ready4Rugby. Outside of this the Colts will be playing Redruth Colts at Redruth at 1030.
Here is the plan:
FREE ENTRY TO THE REC FOR ALL (Please ensure you use the ‘Track & Trace on entry)
ON THE PITCH (Weather and pitch condition permitting)
1200-1300 O2 Touch Rugby – All ages (from 12 up), all abilities, all genders welcome -please turn up changed and ‘Track & Trace’ and if possible, register with James Bunt on HEJA (Sorry but there will be no changing facilities available, but please enjoy the Clubhouse afterwards).
1330-1530 ReadyForRugby Club Festival – Club players, Fathers & sons welcome (yes, the rumour is correct both Dany Duncan and I are planning to play!). Please register on HEJA and ‘Track & Trace’. Changing facilities available with ALL four changing rooms to be used please and social distancing required. Additionally, face masks are to be worn in the Changing Room corridor.
CLUBHOUSE
(Please note alcohol can only be consumed at the tables and cannot be taken outside)
From 1100 – The Clubhouse will be open to all from 1100. Table Service only in ‘bubbles up to a maximum of six’ - First Come First served for tables.
1330 for 1400 – Last orders at 1330 for a 1400 close – This is to allow for a COVID clean prior to reopening for booked tables only on completion of the Rugby Festival.
Completion of the Rugby Festival to close – Pre-booked tables only (£5 per table to secure). Please book via Lou (those good people who have already booked will be contacted separately).
ON THE TV & BIG SCREEN – Premiership Boxing Day matches as they occur.
And finally, I repeat, Falmouth RFC was formed in 1873, we have survived some extraordinary times, and this has been one of them, you have all supported in some way or another and I thank you all, without people we are not a Club. Let us use Boxing Day as the push toward the New Year as a new dawn at the Club and I ask you aid all the players, volunteers, members, and the wider community in pushing us forward… The Future’s Bright…
Many thanks,
John Bullock - FRFC Chair
